NextYou Privacy Policy

NextYou ("NextYou," "we," "us," or "our") provides a habit and challenge tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account and profile information: Sign in with Apple identifier, and (if provided by Apple) your name and email.
• Challenge and planning information: challenge name, task setup, reminders, completion records, and progress history.
• Journal information: journal titles, entries, tags, mood selections, and media attached to entries.
• Weight information: weight entries and notes.
• AI profile information: goal style, personality, time availability, motivation style, obstacles, difficulty preference, and coaching tone.
• Support communications: messages you send to us by email.

1.2 Information collected from device features and permissions

• Camera and photo library: used when you capture or import progress media.
• Microphone and speech recognition: used for voice journaling / dictation.
• Notifications: used to schedule and deliver reminder notifications.
• Apple Music access: used by focus timer features to resume music behavior.

1.3 Subscription and purchase information

• Subscription status and transaction entitlement state are provided by Apple via StoreKit.
• We do not receive your full payment card details.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide core app functionality (challenge tracking, reminders, journal, weight logs, and widgets).
• Authenticate your session and manage account access.
• Generate AI features (for example weekly/final reports) when enabled.
• Sync data with iCloud/CloudKit when eligible and enabled.
• Provide customer support and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain app security and reliability.

3. AI Features and Processing

If AI features are used, selected profile and challenge context is sent to our AI backend endpoint to generate responses. This can include goal information, challenge stats, task summaries, and optional profile context required for the AI output.

AI responses may be stored in the app (for example, weekly or final reports) so they can be shown later.

4. Where Data Is Stored

• On-device storage: Core Data, app files (including journal media), and Keychain are used to store app data locally.
• iCloud/CloudKit: when sync is enabled, supported app data may be stored and synced through your Apple iCloud account.
• AI backend: AI request/response data needed to produce requested AI features may be processed by our backend service.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only as needed to operate features, including:

• Apple services (Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, iCloud/CloudKit, notifications, speech APIs).
• Our AI backend service for AI feature requests.

6. Data Retention

We keep data for as long as needed to provide app features, until you delete it, or as required by law. Data synced to iCloud is also subject to your iCloud account settings and Apple's systems.

7. Your Choices and Controls

You can:

• Edit or delete challenge, journal, and weight data in the app.
• Disable app permissions in iOS Settings (camera, microphone, speech, photos, notifications).
• Sign out and/or remove local account/session data in app settings.
• Disable iCloud sync in app settings (if available).

8. Security

We use platform-provided security controls (including Keychain and Apple-managed services where applicable). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

NextYou is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will review and remove data as appropriate.

10. International Transfers

Depending on the services you use (for example Apple services and AI processing), your information may be processed in countries outside your place of residence.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date.
